First letter to the residents

Dear residents of Centurion,

As you know by now, you might or might not have a claim on your land property in Centurion. Following a notice published in a newspaper about a notification in the Government Gazette that gazetted a land claim in various areas of Centurion, a first stakeholder meeting was held at Leriba Lodge on 10 December 2018 by the Regional Land Claims Office.

Various meetings were subsequently held in certain wards in Centurion to which everyone was invited to attend. Residents were asked to add their addresses to a list so this letter could be send out to everyone on the list.

After the first meeting at Kerk Sonder Mure a Centurion Land Claim Committee under leadership of Hugo Erasmus was established. A meeting was also held at the Heuweloord Community Centre. A final meeting was held at Uitsig High School. It was decided to merge the three groups under Rethro, the Residents Association for The Reeds, Rooihuiskraal and Thatchfield, who was already busy with writing an objection to the claim. Rethro’s chairman is Henk Botma, he can be contacted at chairman@rethro.org.za.
